Hardwood Procurement Forester
Western Pennsylvania based hardwood lumber production company is seeking an experienced Procurement Forester to assist our existing procurement team. Our team evaluates private and government owned properties for timber value and creates purchase proposals. Candidates should have experience with buying timber with inventory supply management, profitability, and quality service to landowners in mind. Outstanding candidates should be able to participate in regulatory compliance and operations management, as well as having a strong foundation in administrative systems and processes.
Responsibilities
Appraise properties and propose timber purchase details with private landowners.
Evaluate State and Federal properties for bid opportunities.
Ensure best management practices and SFI guidelines are considered and priced into appraisals.
Assist Procurement Manager with job and crew management.
Communicate with Procurement Manager to coordinate cutting schedules.
Work with existing systems to create a pipeline of future timber acquisitions.
Help refine, develop, and tailor those systems to our operations with a view to continual improvement.

Qualifications
5 years of forestry experience.
4 year degree preferred, but not required.
Working knowledge of lumber production and grading.
Driving record with a minimum of violations.
High proficiency in Office software... Excel, Word, Outlook.
Pay & Benefits
Competitive Pay $65k - $110k including bonuses.
