SAFETY OFFICER (Warehouse 3PL Industry)

Carson, CA

Schedule: 8:00am – 2:00pm (Part-time to start, potential for full time)

$17.00/hr (willing to train someone in a Warehouse Lead role with safety experience)

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The duties listed below are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed and are not to be interpreted as an exhaustive list of responsibilities.

  • Support the development of the fleet management plan for future procurements and anticipated retirement of current equipment.
  • Collaborate with 3rd party vendors and vehicle manufactures to ensure consistent and reliable service.
  • Develop departmental maintenance and operating plans.
  • Review the development of equipment specifications and participate in the selection of vendors in collaboration with corresponding teams, ensuring compliance to all applicable rules, regulations and policies.
  • Ensure actions are taken on mechanical failures.
  • Respond to customer, vendor and coworker inquiries.
  • Track driver safety meetings mandated by Cal OSHA & DOT and ensure meetings are being held in a timely manner.
  • Perform other safety related duties as assigned.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: From $17.00 per hour

Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday

Experience:

  • Warehouse Safety: 1 year (Preferred)
  • Cal OSHA & DOT: 1 year (Preferred)
