Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Distribution Center Operations:
- Release planned orders and manage exception messages.
- Maintain master data, item attributes, and update reason codes for excess and obsolete inventory.
- Manage End-of-Life (EOL) products.
- Analyze inventory levels and product demand to recommend safety stock levels.
- Maintain and manage master data and order modifiers for MPS planned items.
- Review internal sales orders and coordinate production priorities.
- Communicate late supply issues to demand planning.
- Make decisions on inventory deployment based on products and customer orders.
- Review DC contract/portal inventory and safety stock requirements.
- Provide feedback on forecast performance and make deployment and logistics decisions.
- Ensure accountability for performance KPIs, including past due orders, service levels, and inventory turns.
- Coordinate with site production planning for work order releases.
- Release internal orders and update estimated ship dates for distribution centers.
- Mitigate external sales order risks and update reason codes.
- Resolve material shortages, capacity constraints, and operational bottlenecks.
- Collaborate with site planning, purchasing, and marketing on operations, service KPIs, and product lifecycle.
- Interface with S&OP for supply planning and handle special assignments as needed.
Planning Strategies:
- Familiarity with MPS and various production planning strategies (e.g., run rate planning, make-to-order, make-to-stock).
- Knowledge of inventory planning strategies (e.g., safety stock, MIN/MAX, DOS, MOQ).
Minimum Qualifications, Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, or a relevant field from an accredited institution.
- 1-3 years of experience in Supply Chain management.
- APICS certification preferred.
- Experience with MPS and inventory management in a distribution center setting.
Conditions
- Predominantly sedentary role within a professional office environment using standard office equipment.
- Travel required less than 5% of the time.
