Job Summary:

The Manager, Medical Education will have logistical and managerial responsibilities tied to developing curriculum as well as coordinating and overseeing implementation of medical education events associated with Conformis products and services. This includes activities surrounding asset and vendor management to support and conduct national and local medical education events, coordinating development of clinical content by surgeon proctors and other subject matter experts, and tracking and reporting on the results of those events. Responsible for management, execution, data collection/reporting for the Surgeon Visitation Program, preceptorships and all peer to peer engagement activities. This role will also provide support for Professional Affairs with oversight over surgeon billing activities, Sunshine Act and compliance reporting, as well as some DocuSign contract management support. This role will also provide support for educational sales training events, product demonstrations and marketing events (i.e. trade shows, regional events, etc.) will be required on an “as needed” basis.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain strong internal working relationships across Conformis.
  • Understand the objectives, responsibilities, and mission of the Marketing department and work towards those goals.
  • Prioritize and plan work activities; adapt for changing conditions.

  • responsibilities, and mission of the marketing department.
  • Ability to demonstrate professionalism under all circumstances when interacting with stakeholders of the business. An ideal candidate will have experience with external customer-facing interactions including surgeons and sales professionals and the ability to resolve challenges and conflicts either directly or by bringing on senior management to help resolve.
  • Must be able to plan, establish budgets, lead vendors, and stage all product-based activities, in collaboration with the meeting services team, to successfully conduct customer-facing training labs.
  • Anticipate and creatively deliver on stakeholder needs tied to medical education.
  • Adopt the objectives, responsibilities, and mission of the Marketing department to accomplish annual company goals.
  • Prioritize and plan work activities toward department objectives; demonstrate the ability and commitment to adapt to changing priorities and environments.
  • Be well organized, especially with stakeholder communications.
  • Must be able to both maintain and lead development of assets associated with medical education programs, including, but not limited to, equipment, presentation, content, and vendor lists.
  • Support medical education initiatives by successfully managing projects and programs including on-site event (lab) support.
  • Manage relationships with training (lab) locations & associated resources around the country.
  • Oversight and management of the surgeon visitation program, including managing hospital relations, new site evaluation, and development of supporting marketing collateral.
  • Manage accurate and timely surgeon invoicing for all surgeon engagements following all procedures and protocols.
  • Support Professional Affairs with maintaining compliance with ongoing and year-end Sunshine Act Reporting.
  • Provide support to DocuSign activities for contract management of KOL consultants as needed.
  • Manage medical education and general marketing vendor invoicing.
  • Support digital medical education events such as webinars, as well as serving as a liaison and resource with future remote teleproctoring programs and other technology platform evaluation/execution initiatives relative to surgeon training and engagement.
  • Manage the sawbones demonstration program.
  • Support field sales training events.
  • Coordinate/lead graphic design work related to medical education with internal and external resources.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.


Qualifications:

  • College degree in related field; marketing related experience preferred.
  • 2-5 years’ work experience involving marketing or meeting services related activities, medical device or surgical specialty field preferred.
  • Ability to manage and report on established spending budgets.
  • Ability to develop formal operating procedures and standards tied to lab event logistics.
  • Proficient in Excel, comfortable with quantitative approaches.
  • Experienced with Microsoft Office and Adobe software.
  • Passionate about contributions medical device companies make to surgeons, their patients, and the global healthcare systems working to treat activity limiting pain to restore a person’s independence in society.
  • Strong capacity and desire to learn, seek and be responsive to 360-degree feedback.
  • Capable of collaboration with others while soliciting input and keeping colleagues informed to advance the business.
  • Able to work collaboratively with a diverse professional team and execute on completing assignments on time and within budget.
  • Must be proficient in leading meetings, communicating with sales force in an effective manner, and leading group discussions to provide Medical Education leadership presence.

  • Demonstrated ability to monitor own work, including corrective action, to ensure
  • quality, accuracy and thoroughness.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop internal and external networks is required.
  • Ability to travel up to 35% (as required).
