Position Summary
The Part-Time Career Readiness Specialist is part of the Workforce Initiatives Department in the Education and Workforce Services (EWS) Division of Congreso. This position is primarily responsible for providing facilitation of career readiness workshops to individuals participating in Congreso’s Human Services Pathway (HSP) Program. The HSP program currently offers individuals the opportunity to obtain the Strengths-Based Family Worker (SFW) credential from Temple University Harrisburg, which prepares them to work in various Human Services-related positions. This position will teach Job Readiness, Digital Literacy, Soft-Skills, and Customer Service courses as well as other new initiatives that may arise in the future. In addition to developing and delivering career readiness workshops, this position requires support in the areas of student credentialing, Apprentice support, 1:1 professional development support, student support, team planning meetings, recruitment, and facilitating new-student orientations.
This position will report to the Manager of Training and Post-Secondary Education. This position is HYBRID, requiring a minimum of two days in-person at Congreso’s E[CW1] ducation and Training Center[DS2] [CW3] .
The Career Readiness Specialist applies the principles of the organization’s signature service delivery approach, Primary Client Model (PCM™), by promoting a positive employee-focused experience that is appreciative of the unique strengths, values and needs that each employee brings to the workplace; and by using data to inform and drive decision making. Attention is given to programmatic workforce training, classroom management and instruction, adult education and curriculum management and development.
Minimum Experience, Education, and Qualifications
- 2 years of group facilitation and classroom management level experience working in a facilitator, teaching or instructor role or providing direct educational services to young adults, the community, or clients within a Human Services related environment required.
- Excellent oral and written communications skills required.
- Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly in Word and Excel, required.
- Ability to facilitate and maintain an inclusive classroom environment are required.
- Proven skills in group facilitation and workshop development preferred.
Minimum Education
- High School Diploma required, Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in human service related field preferred.
