Responsibilities
Working under general supervision of the Senior Director, Product Management, relying on experience and judgement to plan and accomplish goals, the Manager, Product Line, Workplace Transformation, markets computer products and/or develops/markets new IT services and solutions that deliver strong gross margins and increase total revenues for the company. The secondary responsibility of the Manager, Product Line is to develop working relationships with vendors, related 3rd party partners, and other departments within the company to aid the sales and marketing of the offering(s). The Manager develops and executes a market-driven product/IT Services strategy. Where appropriate, the Manager establishes effective inventory management techniques to maximize fill rates, turns and return on assets. The Manager develops and manages product/services forecasts for sales, vendor returns, gross margin dollars, gross profit percentage and rebate program optimization. The Manager develops sales growth strategies for a Partner and/or Segment. The Manager maintains and manages vendor funded headcount relationships directly or in a matrix model. The Manager manages and develops direct reports to meet or exceed company goals. The Manager manages the P&L of assigned product/service lines and service offerings. The Manager is the 1st line manager for Business Segment.
Job Duties:
•Develops market level strategy, business plans and forecasts.Expected End Result: Active maintenance and management to an actionable business plan that increases market share, sales and profits for the company.
•Sets quarterly, monthly and annual qualitative and quantitative goals for individual teams.Sets priorities and manages the day to day interaction with the vendor’s channel account team(s).Coaches, motivates and develops personnel.Provides departmental balance, manages priorities and resolves conflictsInsures that individual goals are harmonized with company and other departmental goals.Provides and solicits frequent feedback.Completes annual written performance reviews.Expected End Result: An organization that is focused on top company, departmental and individual goals.•Manages the most effective merchandising of products in the catalogs and/or through various marketing programs.Works with Director of Purchasing to set targets for inventory position.Directs the management of inventory levels, fill rate, backorders and turns.Expected End Result: Maximum return on company assets.•Manages major vendors/suppliers via effective information flow, programs, promotions, meetings, and executive briefings. 1st pass at Negotiating terms and conditions for vendor contracts. Leads major product acquisitions, new product launches and new service offering launches. Manages trade show strategy and attend shows.Expected End Result: Rapid time to market, maximum gross profit and strong vendor relationships.•Drives process improvements across horizontal (cross-company) lines.Expected End Result: A more efficient, productive and profitable organization.•Performs all other duties or special projects as assigned including promotional merchandise inventory management (chotchkes).
