What are the responsibilities and job description for the Cable Technician/Installer position at Connections?
Responsibilities:
- Install and maintain cable systems in residential and commercial buildings
- Pull, route, and secure cables through walls, ceilings, and floors
- Terminate cables and connect them to devices such as televisions, routers, and modems
- Test and troubleshoot cable connections to ensure proper signal strength and quality
- Install and configure equipment such as cable boxes, modems, and routers
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing customer inquiries and concerns
- Follow safety protocols and guidelines while working at heights or in confined spaces
Skills:
- Mechanical knowledge to handle tools and equipment used in cable installation
- Electrical knowledge to understand wiring diagrams and electrical circuits
- Low voltage expertise to work with low voltage systems such as data cables and telecommunications equipment
- Strong problem-solving skills to diagnose and resolve cable installation issues
- Excellent communication skills to interact with customers and team members effectively
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
Note: Prior experience in cable installation or related field is preferred but not required. Training will be provided for qualified candidates.
