Constellation is looking for candidates who would like to be considered in the future as Armed Security Officers at our Clinton Power Station in Clinton, IL.
Starting pay rate : $23.60 hr Union role, competitive benefits and tuition reimbursement.
PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION :
Protect the health and welfare of the public by defending the station against any act of radiological sabotage, attack, or theft of special nuclear material.
As specified by procedure and the site security plan, maintain a secure perimeter for site access and egress and employee, contractor and visitor entry.
Perform search, patrol, and inspections in accordance with the Station Security Plan, procedures, and post orders.
MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES :

POSITION SPECIFICATIONS :
The successful candidate will be responsible for the following :
- Conduct armed stationary, foot and / or vehicle patrol (interior and / or exterior). Control access and / or egress of personnel, materials and vehicles.
- Monitor CCTV, plant surveillance equipment and alarm systems. Deter criminal activity, misconduct, and safety violations.
- Perform other duties as specified in nuclear training and qualification plan and post orders
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Candidates must meet the following basic qualifications for this position : - Pass Any State-required training or other qualifications for licensing - Be at least 21 years of age - Have a High School diploma or GED - Have a valid Drivers License - Must be able to pass a drug test with negative results (except when undergoing documented medical treatment) - Be able to pass extensive background check, including criminal history, personal references, employment and educational verifications, and Department of Motor Vehicle and Credit Check - Pass a State licensing test as you will be driving a company-owned vehicle - Be able to operate a radio or telephone equipment and / or console monitors and surveillance equipment - Be able to successfully complete all training required for the position - Demonstrate an ability to interact cordially and communicate with the public - Pass the following, post-offer in accordance with code of federal regulations for armed nuclear security assignment : psychological assessment, physical exam, including vision and hearing, in accordance with nuclear regulatory requirements and site training and qualification plan.
- Physical fitness (agilities) test in accordance with site training and qualification plan - Firearms qualification with handgun, shotgun and rifle per client site training and qualification plan.
- Nuclear site specific training and testing providing general knowledge of nuclear power generation science and principles, this training and testing will include radiation worker principles including respirator training, fit and dress out.
