Location: Remote anywhere in the continental US (lower 48 states). Cannot work outside of the U.S.
Contract to Hire, Long term Contract
Job Description:
Our client has a host of initiatives and they're looking for strong engineer with big data experience to come and help them with their initiatives. The main function of a Java Engineer (Remote) is to design, develop, and implement web-based Java applications with complex systems to support business requirements.
Job Responsibilities
Review and analyze complex process, system and/or data requirements and specifications.
Lead design and implementation of complex component designs for one or more areas (subsystems) of a project with Tech Lead.
Build, test, deploy, and document complex software components for one or more areas (subsystems) of a project, product, and/or program level solution.
Serve as the technical subject matter expert for one or more areas (subsystems) for a larger system or multiple areas (subsystems) for smaller systems.
Lead other team members in peer review of code.
Interface with other team members and other teams in peer review of requirements, specifications, and software.
Lead/Co-lead internal process improvement initiatives. Provide feedback on processes by offering suggestions.
Mentor and supervise junior staff in project-level tasks.
Assist with adherence to technology policies and comply with all security controls.
