Senior Product Support Engineer

Continental Finance Company specializes in credit card options for those consumers with less than perfect credit. We are seeking a Senior Product Support Engineer to support our Technology team.

The Senior Product Support Engineer will be exposed to all facets of the business and be encouraged to learn and apply a deep level of technical skills both within and at times beyond your role. This position is a high velocity senior role that can take the chaos of handling anywhere from high to low visibility application/software production events and provide both quick restoral solutions that are sustainable and repeatable, while also providing more long-term stability solutions through deeper root cause analysis, communication with other team members and Technology teams and has a focus toward bringing order to chaos.  The Senior Production Support Engineer will be working with an existing team that is highly collaborative, treats failures as learning opportunities and has a passion for working together to solve complex problems. 

***CFC offers a hybrid work schedule which includes three (3) core days in the office (Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday) and two (2) remote workdays (Monday and Friday)***

Essential Functions:

• Understand hardware and software architecture of supported products, applications, and processes.
• Works well with Azure DevOps (ADO) Amazon Web Services (AWS) to build and maintain a both static and serverless processes and applications.
• Interact with product development teams to manage best practices for maintaining source code repository and branching/merging strategy for multiple code bases and applications.
• Debug and root cause software issues, primarily in Microsoft stack technologies (C#/.NET)
• Identify areas of improvement for software applications to bring stability and reliability to products.
• Familiarity with serverless Cloud Infrastructure in AWS services (VPC, EC2, Beanstalk, Lambda, RDS and others).
• Application tooling and development (coding & programming with C#/.NET, Microsoft SQL Server).
• Analyze and resolving complex processes and software application problems.
• Provide analysis, troubleshooting, and documentation for production issues as well as code deployment activities.
• Learn new technologies and keeping abreast of existing technologies and applying these to a variety of projects as applicable.

The ideal candidate will have the following:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering or a related field; or equivalent education/experience in a computer science field.
• Minimum 7 years' experience as a Software Developer, Software Engineer or similar role utilizing Microsoft technologies. Including .Net, C#, MVC.Net and SQL Server. and frameworks/systems (e.g. ReactJS, Git).
• Strong demonstrated knowledge and experience with C# programming language and/or other .NET languages.
• Strong experience with debugging and reverse engineering software applications (full stack)
• Strong team cohesion and team mentoring abilities.
• Experience with leading targeted documentation for process, procedures, and runbooks
• Knowledge of web service concepts (REST, JSON, XML).
• Knowledge of SQL Server technologies and experience developing database applications using SQL server.
• Strong experience with CI/CD best practices. Experience deploying applications through automated build and release pipelines.
