Job Description
Position Summary:
The Labor Trainer implements shopfloor training in an efficient and effective manner, using standardized documents. He or she supports the planning, implementation, coordination, and tracking of all training and development programs, utilizing strategies necessary to support the organization.
He or she is responsible for supporting the Shopfloor Training Manager in developing shopfloor training and implementing the training to Continental associates. Labor trainers are responsible for training new employees and supporting experienced employees to improve their performance. Their duties include defining training needs, supporting onboarding new hires, and conducting training sessions.
The ideal candidate demonstrates skills in communication, problem-solving, and organization. They are open to different perspectives, and they are comfortable with leading and coaching others, providing constructive feedback as needed. They are passionate about training others and are able to work both independently as well as part of a team.
Essential Functions:
- Support current training program until new training plan is established for assigned department.
- Collaborate with Front Line Leaders and Training Manager to define training needs and develop skills matrix.
- Collaborate with Training Manager to develop department training plans and implement once approved.
- Support onboarding new hires and monitor probationary period.
- Conduct and facilitate training as needed.
- Identify and assign department mentors to continue on-the-job training.
- Conduct evaluations for qualification and re-qualification.
- Conduct one-on-one coaching sessions with trainee on progress.
- Communicate with Training Manager of trainee's progress.
- Participate in initial train the trainer and professional development training as needed.
- Reinforce quality, safety, and 5S as necessary and communicate with managers of any needs or issues.
- Support Training Manager with maintaining training records.
- All other duties as assigned by Training Manager.
Qualifications
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience with PowerPoint and Excel
- Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Previous manufacturing experience
- Leadership experience
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite
- High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED)
