What are the responsibilities and job description for the Per Diem Rad Tech position at ConvenientMD?
The RT is a Radiologic Technologist responsible for the performance of radiologic procedures and studies while helping to maintain and manage all Radiographic Equipment. The RT will work closely with all clinical team members in this unique role. The RT will be provided with the education to complete all of the shared responsibilities and clinical tasks such as triage, testing, procedures, and other patient care within their scope of practice.
Job Responsibilities:
Radiology Responsibilities
- Radiologic duties listed but not limited to:
- Prepare and perform radiologic procedures following CMD and ARRT protocols and procedures
- Utilize all radiation protection and shielding equipment following ALARA principles
- Document completed radiographic studies in EMR and PACS
- Navigate PACS system: confirm studies for interpretation, send studies to outside facilities, communicate with radiologists and clarify discrepancies with teleradiology
- Ensure radiology equipment is in working order, notify management and call service when needed
- Utilize a variety of radiographic equipment efficiently
- Stock radiology supplies and note supplies that need re-order
- Precept students and staff members in applicable clinics
Clinic Responsibilities
Assist with other clinic functions as outlined below in order to ensure superior customer satisfaction and operation:
- Patient triage, to include but not limited to: vital signs; medical history; observational examination
- Assist with patient exams, testing and procedures under the direction of the provider (i.e. I&Ds, [KB1] splinting, [KB2] etc.)
- Assist with the following testing & procedures:
- Vision testing
- Hearing/audiometry testing
- Urine drug screen testing
- Breath alcohol testing
- Lift testing
- Impact Testing
- Eye wash flushing
- Wound soaking & cleansing
- Point of care testing: Strep, FLU, RSV, SARs-CoV-2, Capillary Glucose, Mono, HCG, Urinalysis, FOBT/Guaiac
- Telephone communication to include but not limited to verification & clarification of outside radiology orders & requests for copies of radiographs taken at CMD.
- Ensures operation of clinical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; calling for repairs or reporting repair needs to clinic PM
- Keeps work area and exam rooms stocked, clean and orderly
- Maintains accurate, complete records & reports including documenting patient education and care in EMR and all other applicable areas
- Interact with patients in a positive and helpful manner, provide information and assistance as needed
- Complies with all ConvenientMD policies, protocols & procedures including maintaining confidentiality with all patient information by upholding HIPAA laws and rules
- Participates in the training of other team members.

Qualifications:
- Current state licensure
- ARRT certification
- AHA BLS for Healthcare Providers Certification Preferred; American Red Cross BLS Certification Accepted
- Must be able to work 12hr shifts and weekends
Physical Requirements:
- Requires the ability to stand and sit for hours at a time. Some bending and stooping is required.
- Must be able to use manual dexterity in relation to clinical requirements.
- Must be able to lift 50lbs.
