What are the responsibilities and job description for the Manager position at Cookies & Dreams?
Oversee product quality & operational standards. Manage & train other managers & employees. Manage sales & profitability, oversee the budget & reporting. Oversee & coordinate the day to day operations of the business. Plan, organize, & lead as necessary to achieve stated objectives in sales, costs, employee retention, guest service & satisfaction, food quality, cleanliness & sanitation.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Understand completely all policies, procedures, standards, specifications, guidelines & training programs.
- Ensure that all food & products meet quality standards set forth by Cookies & Dreams.
- Ensure store achieves objectives in sales, profitability, service, quality, appearance of facility, & sanitation/cleanliness.
- Continually strives to develop staff in all areas of managerial & professional development.
- Train & develop new managers - potentially at other locations, assistant managers or upcoming managers.
- Make employment & termination decisions.
- Oversee the execution of weekly, monthly & annual budgets.
- Analyze store financial reports & adjust labor or food cost decisions accordingly.
- Maintain a high level of communication with staff members & conducts bi-monthly store meetings.
- Manage working shifts at the bakery.
- Oversee & ensure that bakery & store policies & employee performance standards are followed.
- Be knowledgeable of bakery & store policies regarding personnel & administer prompt, fair, & consistent corrective action for any & all violations of company policies, rules, & procedures.
- Fully understand & comply with all federal, state, county, & municipal regulations that pertain to health, safety, & labor requirements of the bakery & store, employees & guests.
- Ensure that all guests feel welcome & are given responsive, friendly & courteous service at all times.
- Ensure that all cookies are consistently prepared & served according to the recipes, portioning, baking, & serving standards set forth by Cookies & Dreams.
- Achieve company objectives in sales, service, quality, appearance of facility & sanitation & cleanliness through training of employees & creating a positive, productive working environment.
- Control cash & other receipts by adhering to cash handling & reconciliation procedures in accordance with bakery and store policies & procedures.
- Personally fill in shifts where needed to ensure guest service standards & efficient operations.
- Prepare all required paperwork, including forms, reports, & schedules on time.
- Ensure that all equipment is kept clean & kept in excellent working condition through personal inspection.
- Ensure that all products are received in correct unit count & condition & deliveries are performed in accordance with the bakery and store receiving policies & procedures.
- Schedule labor as required by anticipated business activity while ensuring that all positions are staffed when & as needed & labor cost objectives are met.
