GENERAL SUMMARY:
This position provides delivery of parts and supplies to job sites from shop and vendors. It may also include warehouse support, not limited to fork-lift driving, shipping and receiving of materials, and counting of inventory.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Provides support on HVAC/Refrigeration service and construction/install job sites by picking up indirect/direct materials from warehouse and/or vendors and delivering to job sites ensuring an on-time delivery to the project.
Provides support through proper selection of transportation methods used to effectively, safely, and accurately (within DOT, HAZMAT, etc. regulatory guidelines) transport and protect carried loads to and from job sites.
Responsible for ensuring all packing materials, waste, scrap, etc. are disposed of in proper methods meeting each city, county, state, national guidelines for disposal. This includes, but not limited to, things such as boxes, wrapping, scrap metal, waste water, refrigerant and the cylinders the gas is sold in, flammable liquids/gases/powders, etc..
Provides support by loading and unloading parts by hand, or through the use of a forklift, crane/hoist, etc., as needed. Required to follow heavy lifting safety protocol to ensure safety is always #1 priority.
Provides assistance to the Journeyman and Foreman by setting up equipment and cleaning up job site, as needed.
Performs other related duties and projects as assigned by management.
Responsible for proper documentation (timely and accurate completion) on paper and/or in the system of record (ERP) of all receipts of any materials picked up, returns to vendor, return to a warehouse inventory location, etc.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Knowledge of proper methods and regulations in tying down parts and pallets.
Ability to drive various vehicles up to a 22 ft stake bed truck and forklift with current certifications validated and kept on file
Knowledge of, and demonstrated ability to use, Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) as well as web based material management systems
Ability to efficiently read a road map and knowledge of area freeway systems.
Skill in mechanical and knowledge of hand tool operation.
Ability and strong desire to learn.
Good communication skills and ability to take direction.
Familiarity with safety rules and guidelines including ladder safety, heavy lifting, and machine operation, as well as basic driving rules.
Ability to operate hand-truck.,
Ability to lift up to 50lbs. while following heavy lifting safety requirements
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
High school or GED; Min of 2 years experience in an industry or warehouse setting is preferred. Excellent driving record (as validated by MVR records per employee release authorization); Forklift certified and/or experience in driving a forklift to obtain certification.
