What are the responsibilities and job description for the Engineering Lead position at Coral Health?

As our Engineering Lead, you will play a key role in the evolution of our product and platform. As the first internal engineering hire, you will have a chance to make a lasting mark on Coral from both a product and an organizational perspective. We are looking for a driven, skilled technologist that is able to work collaboratively but also work efficiently and independently when needed.
This role is remote and will report to the Head of Product.
What you'll do:
- Build and manage a team of top software engineers
- Work closely with Product and Design to build the next iterations of the Coral Health experience
- Contribute to the product vision and roadmap via a deep understanding of how technology can enable cutting edge business opportunities and experiences
- Continuously assess and size efforts for various types of strategic integrations (employee portals, other benefit providers, etc)
- Determine stage-appropriate architecture approaches that get products to market with a balance of speed and scalability
- Ensure all code deliverables are of the highest quality: Carry out regular code reviews, enforce coding best practices, source control
- When faced with issues that appear to be showstoppers, come up with creative technical solutions to get around them
What you'll need:
- Background
- 4 years of experience working as a software engineer, preferably in a startup environment
- Significant experience with front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, and JS)
- Deep understanding and proficiency with current frontend frameworks such as React.js, Vanilla.js, etc
- Experience with modern server-side programming languages such as NodeJS and/or Python
- Experience with cloud infrastructure platforms such as GCP, AWS, and Azure
- Experience integrating RESTful APIs, especially 3rd party APIs
- Familiarity with modern data transformation stack and data platforms is a plus (dBT, airflow, rudderstack, Fivetran, Snowflake, Segment)
- Be adept at both Unit Testing and Test-Driven Development
- Previous healthcare experience a plus, as well as familiarity with HL7 and FHIR
