Position Summary:
The Regional Controller is responsible for directing the fiscal functions of the property management company's clients in accordance with generally accepted principles by providing financial reporting, financial projections, financial statistics, and operational strategies in an organized and timely manner. The successful candidate profile is an experienced hands-on accounting/finance expert who has GAAP accounting experience.
The Regional Controller will assist both centralized and decentralized accounting offices in all finance-related matters. In addition, this person shall be responsible for multiple centralized properties, performing the controller function for these clients.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintaining financial accounting, budget preparation and oversight
- Establishing and maintaining the accounting system and procedures that ensure accurate reporting and proper controls
- Planning, developing, organizing, implementing, directing, and organizing fiscal function and performance
- Accomplishing finance and organization mission by completing related results as needed
- Auditing and verifying departmental data
- Preparation of financial reports and month end closing for centralized clients
- Monitoring and control of expenditures
- Developing organizational strategies by contributing financial and accounting information, analysis, and recommendations, establishing functional objectives in line with organizational objectives
- Developing financial strategies by forecasting capital, facilities, and staff requirements; identifying monetary resources, developing action plans
- Reporting financial status by developing forecasts; reporting results; analyzing variances developing improvements
Education and/or Experience:
- Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university in accounting or similar plus 5 years’ work experience in managerial hospitality accounting, or equivalent combination of education and experience required
- Knowledge of finance, operations and GAAP accounting
- Personal attributes must include the highest level of energy, enthusiasm and ethics

Supervisory Responsibilities:
Directly supervises Staff Accountant(s) within the Accounting department; along with a dotted-line supervision over the property's Staff Accountant or Controller. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
