Job Summary

Responsible for performing scheduled payroll process and HRIS internal audits, analyzing data, and proposal of remediation solutions.



Major Tasks, Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities

  • Performs audit activities necessary to maintain the integrity and accuracy of the payroll process & HRIS system, documents & presents results to management.
  • Performs periodic internal audits of various payroll & HRIS areas and process corrections/bring corrective action suggestions to payroll manager and/or HRIS team.
  • Supports the payroll management staff on given tasks.
  • Oversees accurate payroll interfaces. Inspects automated systems output such as registers and reports.
  • Evaluates, analyzes, and maintains company Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS).
  • Assists in identifying new HR needs and the software products to fulfill these needs.
  • Learn the business processes of the HRIS system to identify systematic issues with payroll, HRIS, T&A system, and provide solutions for remediation.
  • Makes alterations to existing programs to gather and report data as necessary.
  • Performs routine administrative tasks in support of the HRIS group.
  • Inputs data into the HRIS system and reviews output for accuracy.
  • Maintains HRIS system for assigned projects.
  • Research and prepare special reports for management.
  • Ensures pay rules are accurate and consistently applied.
  • Reconciles payroll auditing reports.
  • Applies problem solving to all level of issues encountered.
  • Maintain effective working relationships with the HRIS team and across the organization.


Nature and Scope

  • Demonstrates skill in data analysis techniques by resolving missing/incomplete information and inconsistencies/anomalies in more complex research/data.
  • Nature of work requires increasing independence; receives guidance only on unusual, complex problems or issues. Work review typically involves periodic review of output by a supervisor and/or direct "customers" of the process.
  • May provide general guidance/direction to or train junior level support personnel or professional personnel.


Work Environment

  • Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.
  • No travel required.
  • Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.


Minimum Qualifications

  • Must be eighteen years of age
  • Must pass pre-employment assessment(s) if applicable


Education and Experience

  • Typically requires BS/BA in a related discipline. Generally 2-5 years of experience in a related field; certification is required in some areas OR MS/MA and generally 2-4 years of experience in a related field. Certification is required in some areas.



Preferred Qualifications

  • Workday experience is a plus.
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent
  • Strong Excel.
  • Strong Analytical skills.
  • Attention to detail/accuracy a must.
