Description
The Housekeeping Supervisor is primarily responsible for managing the daily operations of the housekeeping staff. This individual will promote a safe working environment and quality service to achieve maximum guest satisfaction. The Housekeeping Supervisor will work with supervisors, inspectors, and other members of the housekeeping team to ensure maximum efficiency.
Essential functions
- Primarily responsible for ensuring the proper operation and efficiency of the Operational departments on the property.
- Grow the operational efficiency and effectiveness of the hotel.
- Develop and direct a team to make the hotel successful.
- Utilize company reporting systems to include:
- Daily/weekly/monthly activities
- Time clock procedures
- Labor performance reports
- Understand and uphold operational standards and guest satisfaction ratings.
- Understand and uphold all Core Hotels & Resorts' training requirements.
- Work in support of oversight of financial practices.
- Adhere to and communicate budget requirements and restrictions.
- Control operational and departmental expenses.
- Adhere to hotel requirements for guest/employee accidents or injuries and in emergencies.
Qualifications
Education & experience
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Thorough knowledge of the housekeeping field
- Exceptional guest-focus
- Supervisorial experience
- Fluency in other languages beneficial
Work conditions
- Must be able to stand on feet throughout the shift, with intermittent periods of walking
- Must be able to occasionally lift, carry, push & pull up to 50 lbs with assistance
- Must be able to perform simple grasping, fine manipulation, and repetitive hand & arm movements frequently, and squeezing & overhead reaching occasionally.
- Must be able to bend, squat, crawl, kneel, push, pull, walk on uneven surfaces on an occasional basis
- While primarily an indoor job, must be able to walk outside in a variety of weather conditions (rain, wind, heat)
- Must be able to climb stairs occasionally, both indoors and outside in a variety of weather conditions (rain, wind, heat)
- Must be able to work in variable room temperatures

- Must be authorized to work in the United States
- Must be able to communicate effectively in English
- Must be able to accurately follow instructions, both verbally and written
- Must have general computer skills including Microsoft Word and Excel
- Must be detailed orientated and work well under pressure
- Must be able to work in a fast paced environment
- Must be professional in appearance and demeanor
- Ability to work a flexible schedule that may include evenings, weekends and holidays
- Must have the ability to deal effectively and interact well with the guests and associates
- Must have the ability to resolve problems/conflicts in a diplomatic and tactful manner
- Must have a passion for creating an exceptional experience for all guests
- Must have excellent guest and associate relations skills. Skilled in problem solving by identifying the problem and working through it.
