Roles & Responsibilities:
- Establish and cultivate relationships and communication with representatives from internal and external staff directorates, including Headquarters Marine Corps, SOCOM, Marine Corps Installations East (MCI-E), and Marine Corps Installations West (MCI-W).
- Enhance Diversity & Inclusion (D&I) education efforts by supporting the development of presentations and other materials to increase awareness of key initiatives. Facilitate new workshops, training, tools, and resources, and maintain/update MARFORSOC D&I digital content, including internet and intranet sites.
- Assist with diversity analytics by developing and tracking metrics, analyzing trends, and generating diversity reports. Communicate impact with appropriate recommendations.
- Collaborate with Major Subordinate Commands (MSC) and MARFORSOC Staff to prepare timely and accurate reports with data-driven assessments and actionable information to enhance D&I value.
- Support the planning, execution, and logistics for D&I events, programs, working groups, conferences, and other initiatives, including preparation and completion of forms, documents, or financial records.
- Review, disseminate, and track correspondence while maintaining detailed files and documentation of D&I content.
- Conduct research and stay current on best practices, new programs, policies, and initiatives related to D&I. Manage incoming correspondence from the Department of the Navy Tracking (DoN Tracker) System, Tracking Management Task (TMT) System, electronic mail, USPS, and other communication systems.
- Prepare, distribute, and monitor forms of correspondence, including spreadsheets, calendars/schedules, PowerPoint presentations, Word documents, and electronic mail, ensuring accuracy, content, and conformance to Marine Corps and USSOCOM administrative orders, policies, and directives.
- Ensure proper handling and storage of sensitive and classified material, including validating classification markings and securing safes at the end of the day.
- Participate in all D&I committee meetings and working groups. Serve as a MARFORSOC D&I representative at external events.
- Assist in managing fiscal requirements, including submission of the annual budget, managing funds, and requesting resources.
- Associate's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Development, Communications, Multicultural Studies, or a related field; or a minimum of three (3) years of demonstrated working experience in Diversity & Inclusion (D&I) and supporting D&I initiatives, with knowledge of DEI best practices.
- Demonstrated good judgment and problem-solving skills with the ability to learn quickly, while maintaining the highest level of confidentiality, integrity, fair-mindedness, and ethical conduct.
- Extraordinary emotional intelligence, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to gain credibility and trust. Capable of engaging and connecting with diverse groups and individuals, including high-ranking military personnel and Department of Defense civilians.
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (Word, PowerPoint) for creating clear and cohesive communications; proficiency with virtual collaborative software (TEAMS, Zoom) for facilitating virtual, in-person, or hybrid group meetings; and proficiency with data analysis tools (Excel, Tableau) for creating accurate data-based insights.
- Excellent presentation and facilitation skills.
- Minimum of 4 years of military experience.
