I. Position Overview
The housekeeping position is responsible for a variety of housekeeping duties. These duties are necessary for providing the resident population and the facility with a clean and sanitary environment.

The person filling this position can expect to provide the following services:
Employment Qualifications
· High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
· Ability to deal with frequent interruptions.
· Follow directions and instructions.
· Reliable transportation.
· Identify safety and hazards and act accordingly.
· Carry out proper cleaning procedures on a daily basis.
· Ability to complete task to the highest standards possible.
Job Functions
- Cleans all rooms, waiting areas, offices, restrooms, hallways, entrances, and other areas according to established cleaning guidelines.
- Follows all Infection Control guidelines and company policies to maintain a sanitary, safe, and clean environment throughout assigned areas.
- Wash walls, windows, furniture, baseboards and other items needed to maintain a clean safe environment for our residents, visitors and staff.
- Maintains floors throughout assigned areas by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing and polishing floors, hallways and stairwells.
- Participates in regular staff meetings, safety training and hazard assessments.
- Applies all applicable OSHA and related local safety requirements to all assigned work.
- Performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures.
- Attends training programs as designated.
- Use all chemicals following guidelines while being cost effective.
- Restock paper products, soap and supplies as needed.
- Keeps cart tidy and all chemical properly labeled
- May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
- Seek out areas that require cleaning and take initiative to complete the task.
- Complete all tasks assigned by your supervisor.
Contacts
The person performing this job will come in frequent contact with the residents, visitors and staff.
Working Conditions
This job requires medium physical effort; lifting of trash and linen bags, other objects up to 30 lbs. In addition the position requires the ability to push/pull/lift furniture and other objects. Stretching, stooping, bending, and the ability to be on feet throughout the day.
