The Corix team has an opportunity for a Compliance Analyst based in Chicago, IL-Hybrid. Responsible for implementing and administering water and wastewater compliance programs per Federal, State, Local and internal compliance programs.
What you'll do
- Coordinate all compliance initiatives with Operations Management and HSE Management.
- Track, monitor and coordinate all internal HSE Maintenance requirements to ensure compliance.
- Track, monitor and coordinate all sampling and reporting requirements for water and wastewater utility service.
- Implement new maintenance initiatives/programs with Operations Management
- Coordinate permit application, renewal, and/or transfers as appropriate.
- Monitor and support monthly DMR completion and submission.
- Monitor all wastewater and water sampling results for non- compliance and other issues.
- Track implementation of capital projects to ensure compliance is met.
- Coordinate maintenance and compliance costs with the Finance team for budgeting and forecasting purposes.
- Perform follow-up on all non-compliance advisories and facility inspection reports to address the specific issue and any underlying issues.
- Negotiate and tracks consent orders/compliance schedules to assure timely completion and closure.
- Provide reports to senior management to demonstrate compliance assurance.
- Maintain files on Notice of Violations, inspection reports, etc. for all facilities and Company response.
- Direct the compiling of Consumer Confidence Report and any customer notifications regarding water quality.
- Stay abreast of upcoming regulations and works with Operations Support team to evaluate their impact on UI operations and capital planning.
- Provide guidance to Operations Management to meet compliance requirements.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
What you bring
Experience
- 2 – 4 years of progressive experience in the water and/or wastewater utility business or related field.
Education and Certifications
- HS Diploma or G.E.D.
- Valid driver’s license
Nice to Have
- Associates or Bachelor’s Degree in a related field
- Certified Safety Professional, OSHA 30-hour course, Operator certification(s) in water and/or wastewater
- Familiarity with Oracle Fusion, CC&B, SCADA, GIS, MS Visio

- Ability to frequently perform moderate to heavy physical demands, including lifting (50 lbs.), walking, and sitting for extended periods of time: occasionally climbing, pulling, kneeling, twisting, turning, stooping, reaching, and bending..
- Familiarity with computer applications MS Word, Excel and utilizing tablet and mobile device; ability to learn internal software programs Ability to operate, maneuver and/or control the actions of equipment, machinery, tools and/or materials used in performing essential functions.
Please Note
- This position is exposed to a normal office environment as well as working outdoors in a plant environment. Exposed to loud noise, wastewater, chemicals and high voltage where electrical shock is a potential hazard. Occasionally encounters extreme cold or hot conditions and potential contact with hazardous chemicals.
- Must wear/use all protective equipment were required including hearing protection, safety glasses, chemical suites and personal protective equipment when handling hazardous materials; must be OSHA compliant.
- Frequent travel may be required.
