CFC Personal Trainers are service-oriented staff who help students to engage in healthy physical activity during their time at Cornell. This position interacts with students one on one within our fitness centers to provide them with fitness consultations, design exercise programs, instruct them about exercise recommendations, and lead them through workout sessions. The duties may also include shifts in the fitness centers, helping general members with their workouts, answering questions regarding exercise, and/or delivering instructional special event programs. *Pay rate: $18-$22/hour (based on experience) Success Factors: Ability to be friendly, welcoming, and provide good customer service. Demonstrate a willingness to continue to develop Personal Training skills by seeking ongoing learning opportunities. Ability and willingness to train a wide variety of clientele. Ability to listen to other people and communicate effectively. Required Qualifications: Current CPR/AED and First Aid certification (a short grace period is allowed to acquire first aid certification). Nationally recognized & accredited Personal Trainer Certification (e.g., NSCA, ACSM, ACE, NASM, ISSA, etc.) that is maintained and current. Previous experience working as a Personal Trainer (newly certified individuals are encouraged to apply).
