Position Summary

The primary role of a Project Manager is to coordinate and complete projects on time, within budget and within scope. This includes estimating, setting deadlines, assigning responsibilities, leading, directing, executing, problem solving, preparing status reports and completion. Familiarity with field concepts, practices, and procedures within the construction industry is essential. This person must be willing travel local and overnight.

Service area are: Upper Peninsula, Southeast, West, Mid, and Downriver Michigan and Northern Ohio

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Plans all phases of construction/work order lifecycle from initiation to completion
  • Manages construction schedule and activities
  • Builds, oversee and manages subcontractor teams to execute projects and work orders
  • Works with the Purchasing Administrator to ensure the ordering of all necessary supplies, tools, and equipment
  • Manages Site Supervisor(s) and/or Crew Leader(s) - overseeing their work and giving feedback/direction as needed
  • Develops and adheres to the budget, timeline, and quality control plan
  • Collaborates with and coordinates with architects, engineers, and other specialists as needed
  • Ensures that all local, state, and national building permits are acquired; and codes, regulations and safety precautions are followed
  • Uses software to update schedules, track progress, and document project progress
  • Maintains consistent communication with upper management, support staff, customers, and subcontractors
  • Estimates resources needed to complete project, and manages costs to meet budget
  • Prepares internal and external reports pertaining to job status
  • Ensure that all projects are delivered on-time
  • Assist in the definition of project scope and objectives, involving all relevant internal stakeholders and ensuring feasibility
  • Manages changes to the project scope, project schedule, and project costs
  • Delegates project tasks based on junior staff members’ individual strengths, skill sets, and experience levels
  • Tracks project performance, specifically to analyze the successful completion of short-term and long-term goals
  • Maintains a professional relationship with Customers through the execution and sales of the company’s respective services
  • Conducts all business in a professional and ethical manner to serve the Customer and increase the goodwill and profit of the company

Required Qualifications:

  • Five construction science and management, engineering, architecture, business administration, or a related degree
  • Proven working experience in construction management or similar role
  • Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) Training preferred
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints and drawings
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and general computer software
  • Demonstrated knowledge of construction, engineering, and architecture principles
  • Ability to budget, schedule, negotiate, and oversee control costs
  • Knowledge of building products, construction details and relevant rules, regulations and quality standards
  • Proven Success in project management

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $80,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
