Job Title: Sr. Staff Accountant
Location: Dallas, TX [100% Onsite]
Pay Range: $33-$38/hr. BOE
Schedule: Flexible for your day time shift preferences after training! [i.e. 8AM to 5PM, 9AM to 6PM, 10AM to 7PM] Monday to Friday
Job Duties:
- Prepare and review financial documents, including profit and loss statements, balance summaries, and general ledger reports.
- Generate accurate and timely financial reports for month-end, quarter-end, and year-end periods.
- Identify ways to improve accounting processes to increase efficiency and accuracy.
- Work with different teams to enhance workflows and improve overall operational effectiveness.
- Manage and reconcile financial transactions related to insurance receivables and payables.
- Calculate and track earnings for insurance agents and brokers based on sales data and contractual terms.
- Reconcile commission payments with sales records and address any discrepancies.
- Assist in preparing for audits and coordinating the audit process.
- Monitor and support tax-related activities and requirements.
- Provide support to the Corporate Finance team as necessary.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- At least 3 years of experience in accounting or finance, preferably within the insurance sector (big plus - but not required)
- Solid knowledge of insurance accounting principles and regulatory standards.
- Strong skills in Microsoft Excel, including lookups and formulas.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new software and systems.
- Proficiency in financial analysis, reporting, and account reconciliation.
- High attention to detail and accuracy in managing data.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and adapt in a dynamic environment.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
