The OFC Financial Analyst will assist with the monthly financial statement close, ensuring compliance with US GAAP and Corning Policies, provide analysis of actual results, preparation of business forecasts and long-term financial plans, and reduce inefficiencies in processes to drive continuous improvement.
Day to Day Responsibilities:
- Coordination of the month-end closing process for OU1029 and 1098 ensuring timely and accurate completion of all activities;
- Preparation of Blackline Account Reconciliations and Tasks including internal control documentation (RCMs/Narratives), segregations of duties and review of system access;
- Preparation of quarterly revenue recognition data and ad hoc revenue recognition estimates as required;
- Assist Fiber controllers with month-end reporting, providing financial analysis where needed and help with identifying performance drivers and variances;
- Interaction with Corning Shared Services, Fiber’s customer service, and COF support team to resolve issues related to the data reconciliation between ERP systems being used;
- Work with intercompany partner locations and CSS to reconcile and resolve intercompany out of balance situations;
- Preparation of monthly operating expense reporting including variance analysis;
- Preparation of OPEX schedules and canyons for Greenbook and Blackbook planning periods. Responsible for input, reconciliation and reporting for budget and forecasting periods in Khalix;
- Provides assistance setting up capital and expense projects and provides tracking reports and financial analysis related to these projects and other initiatives as required;
- Preparation of Quarterly SEC and Certification reports for OU1029 and 1098;
- Provide support as needed for internal/external audits
- Preparation of monthly PLP reporting
- Drives finance process improvements
- Other ad hoc work or projects as assigned
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, plus 2-3 years relevant experience
Required Skills:
- Knowledge of US GAAP
- Strong computer and system skills
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to analyze and interpret data and link to business implications
- Good analytical and problem solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, projects and customer at the highest service levels
