Corning is seeking candidates to fill an opening for a results-driven and self-starting analyst within Corning’s transfer pricing team. The transfer pricing team, part of Corning’s overall tax department, deals with the establishment, implementation, monitoring, and documentation of pricing between Corning Group Companies.
The analyst will support the transfer pricing team in meeting its regulatory, financial monitoring and reporting requirements. The candidate will report to the transfer pricing team managers and will work with both headquarters and regional tax teams.
Responsibilities include:
- Assist in building financial models based on economic or valuation theory;
- Support the periodic monitoring of legal entity and operating unit financial results for compliance with transfer pricing policy, based on financial accounting and application of arm’s-length economic benchmarks;
- Assist with Global Transfer Pricing SOX control activities;
- Maintain workplan and calendar relating to global transfer pricing compliance, including requirements relating to local tax and transfer pricing disclosures;
- Performing research and analysis to identify changes in transfer pricing law globally and other developments which impact Corning from a tax perspective;
- Assist in the preparation of domestic and foreign transfer pricing reports and studies in accordance with local rules and law;
- Assist in data gathering and research to support local country tax inspections, audits, and queries from tax authorities; and
- Assist managers in various projects with the corporate tax team and business units to develop and implement transfer pricing policy, strategy, and recommendations, particularly as it pertains to the transfer pricing aspects of business expansion and restructuring.
Position Requirements:
- Advanced degree (e.g., MBA, JD, Masters) is preferred;
- Some experience in a quantitative field (e.g., finance, accounting, economics, statistics), with transfer pricing experience preferred;
- Demonstrated ability of collecting and analyzing quantitative and qualitative data and reporting results and recommendations in a succinct, clear and effective manner;
- Excel modeling skills;
- Excellent written English communication skills;
- Solid project management skills and ability to successfully manage and prioritize multiple projects;
- Self-driven and detail-oriented individual, interested in developing a thorough transfer pricing skill set, with the ability to synthesize and apply quantitative (e.g., accounting and financial analysis) and qualitative (e.g., business functions and regulatory rules) concepts;
- A global thinker, interested in keeping abreast of changes in foreign tax rules and market conditions, and able to navigate the cross-cultural and cross-functional currents inherent in a multinational enterprise;
- Ability to work collaboratively with other corporate functions in the implementation of business expansion plans and projects; and
- Enthusiastic, motivated, personable, hard-working, and adaptable; intellectually curious; enjoys working in a fast-paced and collaborative environment.
