Job Title: Product Line Specialist, Gorilla Glass
Role Purpose:
The MASTERPIX™ photo on glass program is a business built to provide direct sales to consumers and commercial prospects via eCommerce (the MASTERPIX™ website). The products currently include glossy and matte Gorilla Glass prints in various sizes to support photo industry needs. The Product Line could extend to include other glasses and/or finishes to achieve lower cost or different performance.
The Product Line Specialist has a responsibility to assist in the development and execution of a product line strategy that supports the achievement of desired product line sales growth and profitability for the growing global business.
Key Responsibilities:
- Key member of a team consisting of functional leads from Manufacturing, Marketing and Sales, IT, Finance, Legal, Development (when needed) and Masterpix™ Business Manager to:
- Participate in the development and execution of a global strategy for the photo business.
- Participate in the development and execution of the product line roadmap in support of the newly developed Masterpix™ sub-branding strategy.
- Participate in the design and execution of a pricing strategy for each channel.
- Participate in the development and execution of the product line planning process, including the identification of critical projects to be undertaken for the year.
- Find the optimal solution (balancing the needs of Corning and the customer) to all product issues related to performance (i.e., specs, attributes, services), quality, share growth, customer needs.
- Manage the contract manufacturer relationships to ensure optimal customer service and costs.
- Execute the brand strategy.
- Understand downstream market requirements and assess competitive threats and implications for the business.
- Create long-term forecasting plans The PLS identifies the best mix for the market segments through effective segmentation and portfolio rationalization.
- Optimizes inventory management related to the product line by coordinating information flow, as needed, between Forecasting, Manufacturing, and other parties as needed.
- May get involved in supply chain disruption issues to influence or make decisions on global order and Development/ Manufacturing prioritization.
- Works with Manufacturing to identify opportunities to reduce complexity and cost reduction in the manufacturing process both at Corning’s contract manufacturers and with customers, as appropriate. Further, the PLS…
- Addresses new product/special requests by developing a business case (including P&L and balance sheet implications) to determine the feasibility and pricing requirements of the requests.
- Participates in pricing levels by establishing pricing structure, optimizing product premiums, and ensuring value received for product line.
- Works closely with Business Manager to set direction and approve creative updates, marketing plans, tradeshow participation and material, promotions, etc.
- Is an individual contributor that delivers high-quality products to customers with minimal supervision.
- Develops and distributes monthly metrics on sales, markets, and profitability.
Required Experiences and Education:
- A demonstrated track record of managing projects.

- Work experience in a Commercial function.
- Bachelor’s Degree – General.
- Entrepreneurial mindset.
- Working knowledge of image editing and manipulation software.
