What are the responsibilities and job description for the Machine Operator position at Cortec Corporation?
4- 10 hour days. Monday-Thursday, 6am-4:30pm. Benefits available the first of the month following 30 days of employment. $600 sign on bonus paid after 90 days of employment.
The Machine Operator 1 position is responsible for producing product that meets quality specifications, by operating machines, handling product, testing product quality and packaging finished product.
This position requires acceptable progress in learning production processes, equipment troubleshooting, equipment operation, and packaging procedures.
essential functions
The following are essential job accountabilities.
· Can operate all the machines in his/her assigned work area without assistance.
· Packages finished products
· Works effectively with other operating personnel in a unified effort to keep all production equipment operating safely and efficiently.
· Complies with all safety-, health- and environmental management-related policies and procedures.
o Participates in company sponsored safety programs and activities
o Reports to management those conditions or actions by employees or others that might create a hazard to themselves or others in the plant.
· Maintains knowledge of and follows the QC Specifications Sheets
· Completes documentation in an accurate and timely manner
· Other related duties as assigned.
Secondary job accountabilities:
- Coordinates removal of completed materials with the material handler.
- Performs required machine cleaning.
- Maintains departmental housekeeping standards.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS
Minimum Education: High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
Minimum Experience: Entry level position; prior experience in production environment preferred.
Skills
Communications - Must be able to effectively communicate one-on-one and in small group situations; communicates effectively both orally and in written form,
Mathematical - Must be able to add, subtract, multiply and divide; must have the ability to perform these operations using units of weight measurement, volume, and distance.
Mechanical Aptitude - Must have demonstrated mechanical aptitude
Problem-solving - Must have ability to reason and address problems involving a few variables in standardized situations.
Reading Comprehension - Must be able to read/comprehend written and oral instructions; read and comprehend safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals
