- Prepare patients for treatment by welcoming, comforting, seating, and draping patient.
- Build positive relationships with patients, families, and coworkers to ensure the targeted outcome treatment remains on schedule.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene.
- Enter detailed chart/record notations in the practice management system.
- Take x-rays, photos, impressions, and intraoral scans.
- Provide patient instruction/education.
- Provide reports to parents/guardians.
- Assist Orthodontist with consultations and all stages of orthodontic procedures.
- Clean/disinfect operatories and sterilize instruments and devices.
- Set up trays and prepare brackets for bonding.
- Unload and store new supplies.
- Perform other tasks as assigned by the Doctor, Clinical Lead, and Practice Manager.
- You are an excellent communicator who brings enthusiasm and passion to every interaction.
- You are pleasant, professional, and courteous, and enjoy being part of a team.
- You thrive on the challenge of managing competing priorities and excel at time management.
- You care about providing excellent customer service and positive patient experiences.
- Dental/Orthodontic Assisting experience is preferred, but not required.
- Willingness to learn and be a team player are most valued.
- Good understanding of relevant health and safety regulations.
- Proficiency with orthodontic management software systems is preferred but not required.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communications skills (verbal and written), with a proven ability to build strong relationships and rapport with patients, parents, doctors, fellow team members and the community.
- Keen attention-to-detail and time management skills.
- Dependability and a strong work ethic.
