This is a newly created position, reporting to the VP of People. In partnership with the VP of People, you will build out the human resources function for a software company that is experiencing hyper growth. When you join Corvus we will have about 300 employees, but by the end of the year, we will be at 350 employees and next year we will again be growing with continued international expansion. This position will be on the People Operations Leadership team with our L&D Director, Talent Manager Leader, and Senior Manager of Talent Acquisition. You will have direct reports so superb leadership skills are required. To excel in this position, you must have a strong understanding of best practices in HR, and thrive in an environment where you are building most of the processes, policies, procedures and foundation from scratch. Strong expertise in payroll, compensation and benefits, onboarding, offboarding, facilities, compliance and employment law, analytics and HRIS (Paylocity) administration. We are open to remote-based employees.

Responsibilities:

  • In partnership with the VP of People, build out and maintain a compensation and leveling framework based on compensation studies and is updated at least biannually as part of the talent review cycles
  • Lead the optimization of our HRIS (Paylocity) for Corvus in partnership with other key business stakeholders such as Finance and IT so that Paylocity is best utilized by People Operations and our employees
  • Partner with benefits brokers to design and implement a thoughtful and competitive benefits plan that delights our employees and wins talent in the market
  • Create a streamlined leave management process across all our states
  • Serve as the point of escalation for any / all employee relations matters
  • Oversee the onboarding and offboarding processes so that the transitions are made as seamless as possible for the employees
  • Provide strong, actionable, data-driven insights based on people operations data through various stages of the employee lifecycle; must be familiar with industry standard metrics such as compa-ratio
  • Provide advice, guidance, and direct support on all aspects related to people management
  • Lead a team of HR Generalists, Payroll Administrators, and Administrative professionals as the People Operations team continues to grow

Qualifications

  • Must have superb leadership skills
  • Must have experience supporting the HR needs of a rapidly growing software company
  • Will be focusing on the following functions: employee relations, compensation and benefits, onboarding, offboarding, compliance and employment law, analytics and HRIS (Paylocity) administration
  • Strong experience in leave management
  • Excellent problem solving, judgement, and decision making skills
  • Strong personal diplomacy skills with the ability to educate and partner on HR best practices
  • Bachelor's degree is required
  • Any experience in the insurance, insurtech, fintech, or financial services industries would be helpful
