MAIN JOB OBJECTIVE
The Director of Finance will lead the finance organization and deliver timely financial results that help the company make strategic business decisions. The ideal candidate will have experience managing monthly close and improving various financial processes to drive efficiency. He/she will need to be comfortable working in the details as well as thinking strategically.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

- Own and manage monthly close, ensuring all aspects of the General Ledger are completed to provide timely and accurate financial results in accordance with GAAP
- Review existing and develop new financial policies & processes to improve efficiency and accuracy of company financials
- Leverage and implement financial systems to drive overall team efficiency and improve analysis of key business data
- Manage accounting staff including A/P and 3rd party vendors and determine future department needs
- Work cross functionally on strategic projects with Buying, Inventory Planning, Store Operations, ECOM & Marketing departments
- Manage and coordinate completion of external year-end audit and tax returns
- Work closely with Senior leadership & Private Equity ownership group to make appropriate business decisions for the company
- Play a key role in forecasting, budgeting, and strategic planning for the company
Work Environment
This job operates in a corporate office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

This is a full-time exempt position, and hours of work and days may vary depending upon business needs.

This position may require some travel based on business needs.

PRINCIPAL SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES REQUIRED
Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree
- MBA/CPA a Plus
Work Experience:
- 5 year experience in a public accounting firm and/or private company preferred
- Hands on experience with monthly close and financial statements
- Retail and/or Consumer Product experience preferred but not required
- Detail-oriented, willing to roll-up sleeves to get the work done regardless of the assignment
- Proficient in Excel
- Ability to learn and leverage new ERP and other systems
- Result-focus, highly driven to improve performance. Superior ability to prioritize, organize, and multi-task to meet critical deadlines
