Costa Farms has a Garden Center Merchandiser position available working in Big Box Retail Garden Centers in and around the Brockton, MA area. Starting pay range is $16 per hour with a weekly mileage allowance. There will be required travel to the following locations: Brockton, Rockland, Plymouth, Hyannis, and East Wareham, MA.
80% of our Supervisors and Area Managers started as Merchandisers and were promoted to their current positions. You could do the same!
Job Summary: The Apprentice Merchandiser is responsible for executing operational tasks as directed by Crew Mates and/or the Costa Farms managers responsible for the Crew’s stores. Above all, the Apprentice Merchandiser should focus on learning the skills and thought processes necessary to be promoted to Merchandiser.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Complies with safety standards while working in the stores and demands the same of other Costa Farms employees.
- Meets on time with her/his Crew every working day, and consistently completes her/his shift.
- Exhibits high levels of productivity and accuracy.
- Energetically executes tasks as directed by members of the Crew.
- Strives to learn as quickly as possible, and to improve in terms of execution and productivity every day.
- Gradually exhibits initiative to support the Crew without direction.
- Prepares stores for tours, meetings and other events as required.
- Provides excellent customer service to stores and store personnel by exhibiting impeccable professionalism, integrity, and decorum.
- Insures that consumers are treated well by projecting a cheerful, helpful and friendly persona.
- Attends meetings as requested.
Job Requirements
- Must have, and be willing to use for business purposes, a “smartphone” or other mobile device on which various apps including “GoSpotCheck” and “UltiPro” can be loaded and run.
- Available for work at least 6 days in each week, with exceptions to be approved by the Supervisor in advance.
- Must be able to stand or walk throughout the workday.
- Must be able to crouch and to move items on or near floor level
- Must be capable of lifting and moving repetitively
- Must be able to work within a store environment without adverse effects due to allergies, asthma, or other chronic conditions.
Performance Measures
- 100% compliance with safety initiatives, including the use of PPE.
- 100% attendance rate.
- Overall ratings of “Satisfactory” or better in each monthly progress report.
