Coulee Bank is seeking a Bank Secrecy Act Retail Specialist. This position is a unique dual role function that is responsible for delivering a high level of customer service to both internal and external customers in areas of direct retail services and Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) administration.
The BSA function of this position performs various quality control reviews and monitors regulations pertaining to the Bank Secrecy Act and Countering the Financing of Terrorism, Office of Asset Control and Customer Identification Program compliance.
The Retail functions of this position include providing customers with friendly, efficient and professional service in an accurate and timely manner.
It includes processing account transactions, performing maintenance on customer accounts and cross-selling the Bank's products and services.
This position is responsible for managing and balancing a cash drawer in an accurate manner.

A Day in the Life of a BSA Retail Specialist
- Reviews new account documentation for completeness of CIP, CDD and Beneficial ownership exceptions.
- Provide support to BSA officer to maintain compliance with BSA.
- Perform daily cash report reviews & initial investigation related to potential fraud or other suspicious activity.
- Assist with research & investigation of BSA / AML & Account Fraud system alerts daily.
- Maintain detailed records of all information used in account investigation to clear or escalate an alert.
- Ability to make a SAR or No SAR conclusions, based on research, analysis and investigation performed.
- Assist with reviewing the accuracy and information provided by the branches entered on Currency Transaction Reports (CTR).
Ensure the information in the monitoring system is ready for filing.
- Review monthly Monetary Instrument Log and provide feedback and recommendations from investigation.
- Assist & perform High Risk Customer Reviews throughout the year.
- Assists in delivering / coordinating BSA training and continued education.
- Completes review of OFAC verifications and 314(a) search lists.
- Ensures appropriate documentation is maintained and available for internal / external audits and legal requests.
- Assists in development, maintenance and updating of any BSA-related policies and procedures.
- Assist during BSA audits and regulatory exams.
- Performs administrative tasks associated with cash management and remote deposit programs.
- Complete all follow-up work related to customer inquiries.
- Update internal fields of communication to reflect changes in processes and accounts.
- Perform customer deposits, withdraws, transfers, and other teller-related bank transactions.
- Assist customers in opening new retail account products.
- Review customer transactions and identify suspicious patterns of activity.
- Ensure confidentiality of bank and customer data.
- Follow all established security and internal control procedures to protect the assets of the bank and its customers.
- Participate in training programs to ensure knowledge of all pertinent procedure and regulatory requirements.
- Participate in cross-training as a backup to other positions within the department.
- Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
The duties and skills outlined in this BSA Retail Specialist job description require performance factors that allow a person to meet or exceed the expectations of the bank in successfully performing the role :
- High School diploma, or equivalent.
- Two to four years of experience in an administrative and / or customer support role, preferably in a financial institution.
- Experience in a customer service or banking role within a financial institution encompassing a broad knowledge of products and services.
- Strong technical skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
- Strong attention to details, accuracy of work and follow-through.
- Knowledge of office methods, procedures, and practices, including the use of standard office equipment.
- Ability to work effectively with a team to ensure customer satisfaction and completion of work.
- Capacity for troubleshooting, investigating, problem-solving, and in-depth research.
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize and manage time efficiently, particularly in regards to fluctuating levels of customer activity.
- Willing to expand skillset and duties in service of improving bank operations.
- Team player with a positive attitude that proactively seeks new ways to solve problems.

The likely salary range for this position is $23.00 - $30.00 per hour, this is however, not a guarantee of compensation or salary.
Salary will be determined based on experience and could fall outside of this range.
