Job Summary:
The Assistant Director of Nursing reports to, and assist the Director of Nursing Services in planning organizing, developing, and directing the day-to-day functions of the Nursing Service Department in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations that govern our facility, and as may be directed by the Administrator and/or the Director of Nursing Services, to ensure that the highest degree of quality care is maintained at all times.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The Assistant Director of Nursing reports to, and assist the Director of Nursing Services in planning organizing, developing, and directing the day-to-day functions of the Nursing Service Department in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations that govern our facility, and as may be directed by the Administrator and/or the Director of Nursing Services, to ensure that the highest degree of quality care is maintained at all times.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Comply with the Facility’s personnel, safety, and corporate policies and procedures.
- Comply with the nursing department’s policies and procedures.
- Report witnessed or reported allegations of resident abuse/neglect immediately to the Administrator/DON.
- Treat residents, family members, visitors, and team members with respect and dignity.
- Timely completion of assigned in-service training assignments.
- Report to work on time and as scheduled.
- Assist the Director of Nursing Services in planning, developing, organizing, implementing, evaluating, and directing the day-to-day functions of the nursing service department, in accordance with current rules, regulations, and guidelines that govern the long-term care facility.
- Make written and oral reports/recommendations to the Director as necessary/required, concerning designated areas of operation of the nursing service department.
- Assist in developing methods for coordinating nursing services with other resident services, inside and outside the facility, to ensure the continuity of the residents’ total regimen of care.
- Assist nursing with implementation and monitoring of policies, procedures and forms for use in Facility.
- Participate in facility surveys (inspections) made by authorized government agencies as requested by the Administrator or Director of Nursing Services.
- Participate in developing, implementing, and periodically updating the resident’s written discharge plan.
- Perform administrative duties such as completing medical forms, reports, evaluations, studies, charting, and clinical programs etc., as necessary and as directed by the Director of Nursing.
- In the absence of the Director, serve on, participate in, and attend various committees of the facility (i.e. Infection Control, Care Management Meetings, etc.).
- Must have a valid professional license (RN/LPN) that is in good standing with the State.
- Must have a valid CPR certification.
- If required to operate a motor vehicle for business purposes, must successfully complete the requirements contained in Company’s Motor Vehicles policy.
- Must have basic computer skills.
- Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
- Must be able to work beyond normal working hours and on weekends and holidays when necessary.
- Must be able to assist in the evacuation of residents during emergency situations.
- Must be able to perform the essential position functions of the job with, or without reasonable accommodation.
- Employee is required to use a transfer/gait belt or to obtain the assistance of another employee when attempting to assist residents when lifting or carrying objects in excess of 25 pounds. The employee must be aware that during the normal, routine performance of the essential functions, some of the following body movements may occur naturally, although hey may not be a requirement of the job.
Salary : $66,300 - $84,000
