POSITION SUMMARY:
Per diem position 20 hours per week. Primary duty is the ongoing filing of numerous documents in the original files. Scanning of working and original files. Performs general clerical duties that may include but are not limited to: data entry/retrieval; typing; mail processing; creating files. Duties may include some contact with the public. May also initially review PACSES (Pennsylvania Child Support Enforcement System) enforcement and/or locate electronic mail alerts on support cases as assigned.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
May take initial prescribed action on PACSES generated worker alerts in the areas of support enforcement and/or parent locate matters as directed.
May perform data entry or retrieval duties as assigned.
Makes routine telephone calls as instructed.
Performs filing and file maintenance duties.
Scans all necessary paperwork in working and original files.
Organizes and processes incoming/outgoing office mail as instructed.
May assist a team or unit with routine clerical duties.
May docket support case information.
May be assigned to perform or assist with special projects.
Research case information and follow up within established office procedural time frame.
May be required to work at other county facilities.
May be required to process/receive support payments and provide receipts to customers accurately, if assigned.
Follows State, County and Department security requirements, policies, and procedures; understands and adheres to security plans, emergency procedures, and confidentiality policies; helps to provide a safe and secure environment for self, co-workers, and clients; takes measures to secure data and client information; keeps updated on all safeguards and security programs.
Ability to work in a high volume, often stressful office work environment.
Ability to exercise good judgement, courtesy, and tact when in contact with the public and clients who may be under a high degree of stress.
Define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
Will be assigned as a trainer as needed.
Learn and use the Pennsylvania Automated Child Support Enforcement System (PACSES) and all related applications including the County computer system.
Ability to maintain statistics.
Ability to understand the Federal Performance Measures.
Ability to work off-site, if required.
Other duties may be assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

High school diploma or equivalent.
Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, with computer keyboarding skill of 35 wpm.
Must successfully qualify on a basic skills test administered by DRS Administration.
Basic computer skills.
Ability to organize and accurately file documents numerically and alphabetically.
Must be flexible as to work hours.
