SUMMARY: Primarily drives a belly dump semi and tandem dump truck to haul materials or equipment from one location to another.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Maintains regular attendance at work and is consistently on-time to the work site.
- Participates in such road surface repair duties such as patching, grading, chipping, sealing, and other related repairs and maintenance.
- Includes operating specialized equipment needed to complete such repairs and maintenance.
- Report signs and supports needing replacement or repair.
- Checks for proper functioning of the equipment during operation and makes needed adjustments; performs preventative maintenance on equipment, including operation pre check for proper fluids and lubricants.
- May work independently or in conjunction with other workers and equipment while on construction projects.
- Familiar with and ability to follow all DOT regulations as well as state and local regulations and follow company safety policies.
- Other duties and task as assigned and needed. Including, but not limited to emergencies requiring 24 hours on call status.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Will be required to utilize basic skills, knowledge, and abilities acquired prior to assuming the duties of this position with specialized skills developed through experience on the job. Required to attend job safety training and exercise appropriate standard on job site.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one year of satisfactory, full-time paid employment as a truck driver.
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply critical thinking skills and common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with most day-to-day problems in the workplace.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Must possess a valid Oklahoma Commercial Driver’s License and a good driving record.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles; outside weather conditions; and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually very loud.
