Records Clerk Fund : GeneralDepartment : FLSA Status : Non-ExemptReports To : Job Status : Full timeTravel Required : Work Schedule : Position Summary : Under the supervision of Records Supervisor, this position is responsible for ensuring that reports of crimes and arrests are accurately recorded, documented and stored for future reference as required by the Kansas Criminal Justice Information System (KCJIS) and the FBI Criminal Justice Information System.

- Responsible for the completion of specific duties in compiling, recording, and storing of records : Assist new employees in the initial use of the KCJIS computer terminal, such as NCIC, KCJIS, AND NLETS;

SKILLS & ABILITIES Experience : Entry level position. The employee is expected to have acquired the skills necessary within one year in the position.
Education : High School diploma or equivalent is required. Skills : Ability to key 40 words per minute. Understand various Windows programs and office equipment.
Know how to file records in an alphabetical and / or numeric system. Problem Solving : Some problem solving exists. Accountability : Employee is not responsible for budgetary control of the department and does not participate in the annual budget process.
Supervision : Supervision is provided by the Records Supervisor. Assignments are reviewed occasionally by the Records Supervisor.
The employee does not have supervisory responsibility for subordinate personnel. Personal Relations : Frequent contact with county departments and continual contact with the general public requiring the ability to communicate and relate in a positive and effective manner.
