GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
The purpose of the class is to perform skilled, specialized work in the maintenance of the Oconee County Regional Airport, and to perform related work as required. The class works under frequent supervision according to some procedures, but determines some work methods and sequences.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:
- Aircraft refueling.
- Fuel quality control.
- Aircraft parking and advisories.
- Processing fuel sales.
- Building/hangar maintenance.
- Airfield lighting maintenance.
- Airfield grounds maintenance.
- Customer service.
- Administrative functions.
- Fire bottle Inspections.
- Routine vehicle inspections.
- Special projects
- Training.

Requirements
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
Aircraft and airport procedures; General aviation knowledge; Fueling procedures for specific aircraft; to include turbine, turboprop, reciprocating engine powered aerospace vehicles; Aviation fuel quality control; Aware of Federal Aviation Administration rules and policies; Industrial safety awareness; to include hearing conservation, hazardous materials (storage, containment, disposal), eye protection, safety shoes, etc.; Mechanical, electrical, plumbing and carpentry skills utilized during maintenance of facilities buildings and airport equipment and lighting; Personal inter-relationship skills in dealing with flight crews, passengers, general public and co-workers; Knowledgeable of operation of complex refueling equipment; Advising airborne aircraft of current weather conditions, potential hazards, general advisories via radio; Aircraft marshalling, towing and directing aircraft on ground; Radio operations/protocol to communicate with inbound, outbound aircraft; Intermediate office skills: MS Excel, typing, phone etiquette, credit card processing, etc. Aware of aviation mishap incident reporting procedures/protocol
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- The educational requirement for this position is: Completion of high school/GED.
- Education may not be substituted for experience.
- Related-experience required: 6 months.
- Experience may be substituted for education.

- Must possess a valid state driver’s license.
