The Department’s programs include Community Revitalization, Development Financing, Rental Assistance, Homeless Services, Community Outreach, Emergency Shelter, and Permanent Supportive Housing. In partnership with the community, the Homeless Services team offers high quality and effective human services to persons who are experiencing homelessness or who are experiencing a housing crisis. Wake County Housing operates South Wilmington Street Center (SWSC) whose Emergency Program provides evening shelter for 234 men on a day-to-day basis, as well as more intense services through the Progressive Housing Program and the Case Management Program.
