Deputy Clerk I
Warren County is seeking highly motivated and skilled candidates to fill the position of Deputy Clerk I. This is a full-time position that performs skilled clerical work in the Office of the Clerk of the Circuit Court.
This position is responsible for processing legal documents, entering data, indexing records and documents, collecting fees maintaining records and files, and assisting with the public.
Other duties include front desk support such as receiving incoming calls, answering questions, and providing information on Circuit Court matters. This position will also file civil suits, judgments, issues marriage licenses, accept concealed carry permit applications, marriage officiant applications, Secure Remote Access applications, and payments. Other duties also include, assisting the public, attorneys, and other public agencies with general information, filing and court rules, collecting taxes, fees, fines, and court costs using electronic cash register and computerized financial management system, preparing panel list of potential jurors for new terms, assists with seating a jury, providing counsel reports and payment of jurors, and issues the oaths of office. Performs related tasks as required.
A successful candidate will have general knowledge of the office methods, procedures, and practices of the Office of the Clerk of the Circuit Court. General knowledge of business English, spelling, and arithmetic; ability to understand and operate standard office, word processing, in-house software, data entry equipment, scanning equipment, and policies are required. The ability to communicate ideas effectively in both oral and written forms, ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions, ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with court officials, associates, and the general public. Time management, keyboarding skills, attention to detail, and maintaining confidentiality is required.
Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school is required and office experience in a Clerk’s Office or Law Office is preferred.
The starting salary is $36,806.00, depending on qualifications and experience, with an excellent benefits package.
