EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT OPERATIONS OFFICER
The Washington County Department of Public Safety currently has an opening for a full-time Emergency Management Operations Officer. This purpose of this position is to serve as liaison with the Pennsylvania Emergency ManagementAgency and other Counties. To develop pre-emergency planning for WashingtonCounty, to coordinate and implement countywide disaster plans as may be necessary. Will serve as Deputy to the Director of Public Safety.
The position requires an Associate’s Degree or specialized courses/training equivalent to satisfactory completion of two (2) years of college in management or related filed. Required six (6) years of pre-hospital EMS, firefighting, special rescue operation, hazardous materials, emergency management, law enforcement operations or related field. Must have Non Suppression State FireInstructor; State Suppression Instructor preferred. Must have working knowledge and understanding of and appropriate certifications in safety and emergency areas. Must have knowledge of laws, rules, ordinances and agencies related to public safety services. Computer and emergency management skills are necessary. MS office and public speaking are necessary.
Travel within and outside the County is required, therefore the candidate must have transportation and have a valid PA driver’s license and insurance.
Salary - $63,000 to $70,000
