What We're Looking For

Countybank is seeking a Senior Trust Officer. The Senior Trust Officer will report to the Chief Banking Officer. The associate in this position will be responsible for the strategic direction of the Trust Department while mentoring and leading a team of Trust experts. They will be responsible for managing a book of client relationships with administrative and relationship management responsibility. This position requires fiduciary expertise and the capability and capacity to implement complex decisions regarding all client account management. A Senior Trust Officer should possess a keen understanding of the importance of confidentiality, and a commitment to embracing and applying a high standard of service to our clients, communities and your fellow associates.

What You Can Expect

Fiduciary Management

• Represent the bank in all fiduciary matters complying with laws and regulations including the Statement of Principles of Trust Department Management.
• Oversee the administration of all trust department accounts, reporting matters requiring additional attention to the trust committees, including the completion of comprehensive investment and administrative reviews of all accounts in consideration of governing instruments, applicable laws and regulations, fiduciary responsibilities and needs of the beneficiaries.
• Direct the meetings of the Trust Administrative and Trust Investment Committees to review all pertinent matters including supervision of investments, acceptance of new accounts, discharge of closed accounts, and administration of distributions.
• Execute policies set by the Board of Directors.
• Maintain a current strategic plan, setting both short and long-term objectives with complete action plans to achieve results.
• Establish an organizational structure to achieve the department's goals with adequate staffing.
• Develop annual departmental budget by line of business with ongoing monitoring and reporting of profitability by each product and relationship.

Leadership

• Provide support, leadership and direction for our Trust associates.
• Provide ongoing mentoring, training and development of Trust associates.
• Be an ambassador for the organization in the community by regularly attending company-sponsored events; charitable events; being active in civic organizations and various community initiatives.

Relationship Management

• Serve all clients with excellence.

Manage client investment portfolios

• Participate in new account acceptance process.
• Retain a portfolio of relationships.
• Develop new business.

Education, Experience and Certifications

• Bachelor's degree in Economics, Business, Accounting or related field of study.
• Law degree/experience preferred.
• 10 plus years of Trust experience; previous investment, banking or accounting experience preferred; or any equivalent combination of education, training or experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
• Expertise in all applicable areas of Trust laws, regulations and compliance.
• Track record of exceptional management and leadership experience.
