What are the responsibilities and job description for the BQT/CTR - Cook position at Courtyard-Starkville, MS?
The Banquet Cook is responsible for the daily production of high-quality food in accordance with the catering menu. They maintain sanitation standards to optimum conditions and take pride in all facets of service, quality, appearance, and cleanliness for the area of responsibility.
Essential Functions

• Prepares the complete line of meal set up and establishes an adequate par for the set up.
• Set up workstations with all needed ingredients and cooking equipment.
• Prepare ingredients to use in cooking (chopping and peeling vegetables, cutting meat etc.).
• Cook food in accordance with the recipe and Banquet Event Order count.
• Property label, date, and store all perishable food items.
• Audit food items in the kitchen to ensure standards are being met and communicate inventory needs.
• Complies with all food safety and sanitation standards and policies.
• Maintains good housekeeping procedures in preparation and cooking areas.
• Always comply with Peachtree Hospitality Management standards and policies to encourage safe and
efficient hotel operations.
• Approach all encounters with guests and team members in a friendly, service-oriented manner.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.
• Attend all training/meetings as required by management.
Physical Demands
• Long hours, early mornings, and late nights.
• Medium work-exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 30 pounds of force frequently
or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
• Ability to be on your feet throughout the entire shift.
