Position Description:
The CDL Driver will perform duties associated with transporting hazardous and non-hazardous waste between Covanta facilities and the client's sites. Drives will be able to operate various equipment, including vacuum tankers, trucks, vans, and flatbeds.
Responsibilities:
- Operate equipment in a safe manner following DOT regulations and company policies and regulations.
- Drive commercial vehicles to pick up safely and transport waste to a designated location while meeting scheduled appointments and following all DOT regulations.
- Ensure the placarding of vehicles meets DOT regulations.
- Maintain paperwork, including expense reports, timesheets, vehicle inspection reports, manifests, and job sheets.
- Inspect truck equipment and supplies such as tires, lights, brakes, gas, oil and water.
- Secure cargo before and during transit.
- Complete additional assigned duties.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma / GED preferred.
- Must be 21 years or older due to interstate travelin a commercial vehicle and federal regulations.
- Minimum (2) years of commercial driving experience.
- CDL Class A with Tanker endorsements.
- HazMat endorsement preferred but not required.
- Clean driving record.
- Ability to use a tablet for E-Logs.
- Abide by standard DOT regulations at all times.
