Job Summary
As a school speech-language pathologist, you will offer services to students who require speech intervention according to the parameters set forth in their individual education plans (IEP). You may also be required to meet with parents, teachers, and administrators to develop IEPs for students at various schools within the district.
Your students will vary in age from grades K-12, to be determined by the school district. You may be asked to travel to multiple campuses to perform speech evaluations or provide speech services to students. You will perform professional assessments of students’ speech communication abilities and progress, providing recommendations for speech therapy interventions that will help maximize their communication abilities and learning potential.
Depending on the individual needs of each student, you will provide tailored pull-out speech therapy services to help students overcome speech limitations in order to be successful in the classroom and develop essential communication skills. Interventions may include exercises to improve the development of oral motor skills, speech fluency, articulation, cognition, listening comprehension, and oral reading skills. These services may be provided on a one-to-one basis or in small groups.

Qualifications
Education
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
Master’s degree from an accredited speech-language pathology program
Experience
Prior SLP experience working in a school setting is preferred but not required.
Licensure and Certifications
Current Speech-language pathology licensure within the state of practice
Certification of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP)
BLS certification
