Position Summary:
Supervises clinical staff in conjunction with performing clinician duties in a role model methodology.

Responsibilities
- Coordinates daily work assignments and prepares schedule for clinical staff.
- Monitors staffing of each shift to ensure adequate number of personnel are scheduled to provide patient care.
- Assists with collection of quality assurance data.
- Provides direct communication to staff and management.
- Available to clinical staff as consultant and resource person.
- Evaluates patients as related to therapy; communicates results to other therapists, nursing staff and physicians when evaluation indicates need for change in treatment.
- Assumes responsibility of mentoring respiratory staff and orientation of new employees on shift worked.
- In conjunction with necessary departments, coordinate clinical competence of all personnel performing respiratory care procedures.
- Performs assigned tasks and uses equipment with skill and accuracy.
- Maintains clean work area.
- Perform other related duties as assigned or requested.
Qualifications
Minimum Education:
None specified; however, must be sufficient to meet the standards for achievement of the below indicated license and/or certification as required by the issuing authority. Associate degree from an accredited school of respiratory therapy.
Minimum Experience:
A minimum of three (3) years' clinical experience. One year of supervisory experience preferred.
Licensure Requirements:
Licensed in the State of Tennessee as a Registered Respiratory Therapist with ABG endorsement, and valid RRT credential by the National Board of Respiratory Care is required. CPR required.
