Pastoral Assistant

Pastoral Assistant Position Available
at Covenant Presbyterian Church, Frazer, Pa.

The Covenant Presbyterian Church in Frazer, Pa in Donegal Presbytery, is looking for a pastoral assistant who would work up to twenty hours per week, primarily during weekdays.

The position start date will be as early as September 26th, 2022.

The following are the job responsibilities:

• Make hospital and other critical care visitation
• Provide visitation to church members in their homes, hospitals and nursing homes
• Support and partner with the pastoral care initiatives of the Deacons and Stephen

Ministers

• Attend and support meetings of Deacons
• Preaching occasional Sundays as negotiated during the transitional term

The position term will be for a period of six to ten months, while the congregation searches for a new, full time associate pastor. (The Pastoral Assistant may be eligible, if they meet the requirements, for the full time position.)

The successful applicant will be an ordained Presbyterian (PCUSA) Minister of Word and
Sacrament or a pastor in a denomination in full communion with the PC(USA).

Compensation will be thirty dollars per hour, and mileage reimbursement included at the standard IRS rate. The contract will be negotiated with the Session, in consultation with the
Donegal Presbytery’s Connecting our Ministries Commission. The length of the contract will include a 30-day termination notification on either side. Paid vacation time and study leave will be provided.
