WHAT WE OFFER The Senior Mechanical Engineer is a technically competent professional who provides effective technical solutions on large projects, executes assignments of a complex nature and mentors and trains others. Major Responsibilities Lead the mechanical effort on capital projects, especially as it relates to static equipment. Prepare technical specifications for static equipment. Conduct technical bid evaluations and review fabrication drawings, calculations, and inspection and testing procedures from purchase through delivery. Capable of developing corporate and regional standards in the mechanical area. Provide assistance and expertise to the Manager of Mechanical Engineering Keep abreast of new technologies. Work with manufacturers of new equipment and services to make presentations and conduct seminars. WHAT YOU OFFER Basic Qualifications Bachelor of Science, Mechanical Engineering (BSc) with 6 years, MSc with 4 years or PhD with 2 years of relevant experience in the Chemical or Petrochemical industry. Well versed in detail engineering for static equipment and related packages, including the preparation and review of the following: Equipment specifications Technical bid evaluations Fabrication drawings Calculations Inspection and testing procedures from purchase through delivery Well versed in the use of equipment software such as PV Elite or Compress Competent in the application of the relevant equipment codes and standards such as ASME, API and TEMA Good understanding of the requirements for maintainability, material selection and mechanical reliability Background in operability principles and maintenance requirements of the diverse machinery used in the chemical industry Ability to travel 20 - 40% of the time Willingness to pursue advanced education, training and professional registration Preferred Qualifications Registered Professional Engineer in Mechanical Engineering Knowledge & Skills: Good English language skills, written and oral Strong analytical and problem solving (decision making) skills Collaborative team player capable of working well with people across all hierarchies Good organizational and presentation skills Strong interpersonal skills such as communication, listening, verbal and assertiveness YOUR APPLICATION Are you as curious, courageous and colorful as we are?
