Team Lead – Warehouse/Distribution Inbound, Animal Health
Our City, State location is seeking a DC Team Lead responsible for receiving and storing products within a distribution center environment. The DC Team Lead- Inbound also, in conjunction with the Inbound Manager, leads and motivates the team to ensure they are meeting customer and company requirements. We offer a climate-controlled, small-team environment where you rarely have to work weekends!

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES (including but not limited to)
- Leads the Inbound team in the receiving, storing, handling returned/damaged goods, and administrative tasks, to ensure customer and company requirements are met.
- Ensures end-of-day system verification tasks are completed; all received product has been put away, and product movements completed.
- Works with internal partners (Accounts Payable and Purchasing) and vendors regarding orders received. Answers questions and provides information to resolve any outstanding issues in a timely manner. Communicates discrepancies to appropriate individuals which many include Accounts Payable, Purchasing, Vendors, other DC facilities, and/or sales staff.
- Performs inventory control functions (e.g., stocking shelves, identifying products for re-slotting, rotating stock including replenishments, cycle counting, and the general organization and maintenance of the warehouse), as required.
- Ensures proper receiving procedures are being followed and that adequate supplies and equipment are available.
- Monitors performance of team members and provides feedback to management. Recognizes training needs and implements training to ensure team is prepared. Ensures management is aware, on a regular basis, of all aspects of associate performance.
- Performs security checks of the building and locks and secures the building for the evening, or opens the building and prepares the warehouse for the day’s business, if required.
- Performs duties of a DC Team Member/Receiver including operating forklift, as required.
REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum of one year of experience in warehouse or production environment; prior experience directing work flow preferred
- Experience with data entry on a PC
- Experience and knowledge in distribution processes (receiving, shipping, and inventory control) preferred
- Experience with Radio Frequency (RF) scanners preferred
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively
- Demonstrated ability to organize, prioritize, and meet deadlines
- Forklift Certification preferred; ability to become forklift certified required
- Ability to read and understand the English language to effectively read product descriptions, labels, shelves, and other product documents.
- Ability to understand and perform basic math to ensure accurate product quantities.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Must be flexible to work mandatory overtime hours as needed to ensure timely customer delivery.
- Ability to lift and transport 30 pounds on a regular basis and up to 50-70 pounds on an occasional basis.
- Must be able to stand and/or walk on concrete for the duration of the shift and complete tasks that include bending, stooping, and reaching.
- Ability to respond to after-hours emergencies
- Ability to engage in overnight travel, if necessary (<5%)
