What are the responsibilities and job description for the Product Owner position at Covetrus, North America?
SUMMARY:
As the Covetrus Product Owner you will be responsible for prioritizing the team backlog, sprint planning, setting quality standards for delivery and representing the customer to the Agile team.
In conjunction with your stakeholders and in alignment with the Product Management roadmap, you will support the development, delivery, and maintenance of business-critical features for our internal partners. This role requires strong analytical skills, collaboration with development teams, business teams, and key stakeholders to document requirements and deliver scalable solutions to the end user.
Working in an agile environment, this position collaboratively partners across administrative and functional areas of the company.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Owning the team backlog (grooming, prioritization and refinement)
- Create, refine, socialize and prioritize the Product backlog
- Responsible for translating the overall vision into tactics for a particular product
- Contribute to the maturity, performance and growth of the Agile team
- Sets the quality standard for delivery as well as user story elaboration and establishment of story acceptance criteria
- Perform user acceptance testing
- Coordinates sprint review meetings and provides updates on timelines and deliverables
- Coordinates closely with other product owners and product managers to deliver high value functionality
- Effectively communicates relevant information to all levels of the organization
- Create dynamic spirit of teamwork and collaboration
- Represents the team, when needed, to stakeholders, leaders and other teams to ensure alignment and understanding progress of the team.
- Identify opportunities for process optimization and redesign that will allow us to accomplish objectives more quickly and at a higher level of profitability
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 3 years’ combined Product Owner or Product Management experience
- In-depth knowledge of Agile process and principles
- Internal and external (customer-facing) presentation and training skills
- Leadership and participation in cross-functional teams
- Thrives in a fast-moving environment, working on a variety of projects and technologies in an iterative, team-based culture
EDUCATION
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Computer Science, or related field
CERTIFICATION
- PSM/PSPO
- SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework) POPM preferred
